RaceDay features: Road courses in Chase, pit strategy and more

Kenny Wallace and Jeff Hammond debate whether NASCAR should put a road course in the Chase.

Whenever the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to the road courses, pit strategy is always one of the biggest keys to success. Jimmie Johnson’s crew chief Chad Knaus explains his pit strategy for Sunday’s race, while Jeff Hammond breaks down how successful crew chiefs work out fuel mileage.

Thanks in part to pit strategy, there have been nine different winners in the last nine races at Sonoma Raceway.

Tear wear is also one of the biggest things drivers and crew chiefs will face on Sunday, and even the tires are happy about turing left and right.

Each time the Sprint Cup Series heads to a road course the debate always heats up about whether there should be a road course in the Chase. Kenny Wallace and Jeff Hammond debate the topic while fans weigh in as well.
