Jeb Burton Scores First Career NASCAR Trucks Victory
It's safe to say that Jeb Burton is here to stay.
Jeb scored his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory in only his 12th start, holding off a hard-charging Ty Dillon Friday night at Texas Motor Speedway.
"It's freakin' awesome," a teary-eyed Jeb said in victory lane. "I'm just a little ol' country boy from South Boston (VA) livin' the dream."
Jeb had a helping hand from his father, Ward Burton, who was watching from the spotter's stand and relaying info over the radio.
Ward, winner of the 2002 Daytona 500, admitted that Jeb's win was one for the ages.
"Biggest day I've ever experienced in racing," Ward said. "I wish I had a parachute... I would have got down here earlier."
Ward wasn't the only one pumped up for his son. Check out some of the tweets that flowed in immediately following the race.
