News: Newman drove Richard Childress Racing's No. 31 WIX Filters Chevrolet SS to a seventh-place finish in Sunday's final short-track race of the season at Martinsville Speedway, ryannewman.com reports.
Impact: Newman started inside the Top 10 and would race there for most of the first half of the event. Tight-handling conditions would plague the No. 31 Chevrolet and the team would have to deal with those. Newman battled in the late stages to break back inside the Top 10 and finish seventh in the Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500. It was his 15th Top 10 of the season.

News: Newman drove Richard Childress Racing's No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet SS to a 10th-place finish in Sunday's 300-lap event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Ryan Newman's Facebook reports.
Impact: The No. 31 team raced inside the Top 15 most of the day and had a steady and consistent race car. The effort was typical of Newman's recent efforts at the Loudon short track, and indicative of his Chase performances the last couple seasons. Newman earned his second-straight Top-10 finish to start the Chase for the Cup. He now sits sixth overall as the series heads to Dover next weekend.

News: Newman finished fourth in the MyAFibRisk.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Impact: The Richard Childress Racing veteran kicked off his Chase campaign with a very strong performance at Chicagoland Speedway. Newman would start up front and race there all afternoon in this 400-mile event. When the checkered flag waved the driver of the No. 31 Chevy crossed the finish line with his fifth Top 5 of the season. Newman vaults six spots to eighth overall in the Chase for the Cup standings after Chicago.
