News: A month after NASCAR driver Stewart killed a fellow driver on a racetrack in upstate New York, the star sprint car driver's case will reportedly head to a grand jury where it will determined if he will face criminal charges, The Atlantic Wire reports. Impact: A grand jury will decide if Stewart will now review the evidence from the Ontario County investigation and decide if criminal charges should be placed against Stewart. There is no timetable for this decision, but now it becomes somewhat clear that the local authorities and district attorney have reason to believe that Stewart's actions may have been reckless or negligent and led to the death of Kevin Ward Jr. Only time will tell just how this will all play out, but Stewart released comments that affirm his cooperation in the continuing process.(RotoWire, )

News: Stewart started 19th Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway in the race that finalized the field for the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship, climbed as high as 10th inside the final 100 laps and then fell back when his crew missed a lug nut on his final pit stop to finish 15th, the Associated Press reports. Impact: It was a strong effort, but came up short of getting that lone victory that would transfer Stewart into the Chase field. This is just the third time in the 11-season history of the Chase that he has failed to qualify for NASCAR's playoff format. Stewart and the team plan to assess their current situation in the coming days and make some decisions regarding the remainder of the season.(RotoWire, )
