News: By all accounts, the past few weeks have been challenging for Busch and crew chief Dave Rogers -- and that's putting it extremely mildly. Busch indicated during Thursday's Chase Media Day activities in Chicago that there is harmony between the two heading into the 10-race Chase for the Sprint Cup, FOX Sports reports. Impact: "Things are fine. Things were fine at Atlanta, things were fine at Richmond," Busch said. "Everyone's at zero now. You want to be running better, you want to be winning those last two or three races before going into the Chase, but I don't know that anybody's ever really done that in a row, and then they go into the Chase and carry that momentum through." Busch has hit the reset button with his team and crew chief and they are now focused on the championship. Up until last season, the Joe Gibbs Racing star hasn't had the best history in the final 10 races of the season. We'll see if he can buck that trend starting in Chicago.(RotoWire, )

NASCAR officials announced that the rear gear of Busch's winning Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54 Toyota would be taken to the NASCAR Research & Development Center in Concord, North Carolina., for further evaluation, NASCAR PR reports. Impact: After post-race inspection, NASCAR confiscated the rear gear from Busch's race-winning Toyota. The star driver dominated the night and led all 250 laps of the event, which surely drew some extra scrutiny in post-race inspection. Any penalties that would result would likely be announced early next week.(RotoWire, )
