News: Team owner Joe Gibbs side-stepped questions about Edwards' expected move to his race team, NASCAR Wire Service reports. Impact: "We don't have anything right now to announce," Gibbs said on pit road before Sunday's race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "Anything that we're going to do will be coming up in the future. I'm not sure exactly what the time line is. We've been (preparing for a fourth team) each and every year." Gibbs wouldn't tip his hand on Edwards, but he did underscore the team's desire to add a fourth team, which has been the case for several seasons now. All indicators seemingly point to Edwards landing at Joe Gibbs Racing in 2015.(RotoWire, )

News: Edwards finished 15th in the John Wayne Walding 400 on Sunday afternoon. Impact: Despite the morning news that he will not be returning to Roush Fenway Racing in 2015, Edwards was able to put together a strong race on Sunday. He finished with a Driver Rating of 79 and secured his spot in the Chase after collecting 29 more points in the Sprint Cup standings. Edwards still hasn't announced where his ride will be next season, but with Ford out of the picture, Joe Gibbs Racing looks to be the best possibility.(RotoWire, )

News: Roush Fenway Racing Cup drivers Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Greg Biffle and Edwards spent Monday and Tuesday using one of their NASCAR allotted tests at Michigan International Speedway, Ford Racing PR reports. Impact: The Roush teams all got in some extra track time this week at the two-mile Michigan oval, and for good reason. In June's Quicken Loans 400 at MIS, no Roush driver cracked the Top-15 at the end of the day. Edwards finished a disappointing 23rd and one lap down to the leaders that afternoon. The driver of the No. 99 Ford and his teammates should hopefully find more speed so they can perform better in August when the Sprint Cup Series returns to Michigan.(RotoWire, )
