Impact: The Hendrick Motorsports star rebounded from a sub-par Las Vegas finish in good style Sunday at PIR. Kahne qualified the No. 5 Chevrolet inside the Top 10 and he raced it there much of the day. Despite the various pit strategies that played out over the 500k race, Kahne held steady and was racing among the Top 5 in the closing laps. News: Kahne, driver of the No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet SS, started off the 2015 season strong by finishing ninth in Sunday's Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, kaseykahne.com reports.
Impact: Kahne has never been a driver to headline the finishing order at Daytona or other super speedways for that matter. All the Hendrick teams had great speed this week at Daytona and Kahne showed his No. 5 Chevrolet was no less significant. The Top-10 finish at DIS was his first since the 2012 season and just his third-career Top 10 in the Daytona 500.

News: Kahne hopes to race a sprint car again after spending five nights this month wheeling one of the fastest cars on dirt. He certainly hopes it doesn't take another three years to run his next sprint-car race, sportingnews.com reports.
Impact: Kahne has not raced in the sprint cars since a 2011 crash that saw his car flip multiple times and out of Williams Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania. Owner Rick Hendrick has not allowed him to race in these dirt track cars ever since. Kahne convinced Hendrick to let him compete again at the inaugural "Winter Heat" in Arizona this month, and he hopes to return to sprint car racing again in the near future as Hendrick allows.
