Richmond drove the No. 25 Folgers Chevrolet for car owner Rick Hendrick in 1986 and 1987. He won nine races in that span and finished a career-high third in Cup points in 1986.
Driving the No. 22 Maxwell House Ford Thunderbird for Junior Johnson, Marlin won the pole for the Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway in 1991 and 1992.
