5. Jimmie Johnson
Despite consecutive mediocre runs in the past two weeks, Johnson is always a threat at the Brickyard, where he has won four times, second only to his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jeff Gordon. And as Johnson has proven over the years, he can turn it on at any time.

4. Joey Logano
The last time a Ford won the Brickyard 400 was in 1999, when Joey Logano was just 9 years old. But Logano already has won the Daytona 500 this year and he has top-five finishes in five of the past six races. He's ready.

3. Kyle Busch
The hottest driver in the sport by a wide margin right now is Busch, who has won three of the past four races. Although a Toyota driver has never won the Brickyard 400, Busch finished second twice in the past three years.

2. Jeff Gordon
The five-time and defending Brickyard 400 champion, Gordon clearly is the sentimental favorite given that this is his final season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. And you know, Hendrick Motorsports will bring their best bullet to give Gordon a chance at making history.

1. Kevin Harvick
A past Brickyard 400 winner and the reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Harvick has posted historic numbers this year, with two victories, 13 top-five and 17 top-10 finishes in just 19 races. For his career, Harvick has won all the NASCAR 'majors' and clearly is a threat anywhere he unloads.
