News: Newman finished second in the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway Sunday afternoon. Impact: Nobody raced harder than Newman Sunday at Homestead. With less speed and less power, he rallied the No. 31 Chevrolet more than once to stay in the Top 5 with the other championship contenders. He used a late two-tire pit stop to get great track position to challenge Kevin Harvick for the win. Newman left it all on the race track in a bid to pass for the win but couldn't reel-in Harvick. Newman's runner-up finish gives him a career-best runner-up finish in the championship standings.(RotoWire, )

News: The NASCAR world will see if Newman has one more clutch effort left in the tank for Sunday's Championship race at Homestead, NASCAR PR reports. Impact: Newman had to throw a Hail Mary pass on the last lap at Phoenix last week to make into the championship round of the Chase. He will now vie head-to-head with Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano for this season's championship in the final race of the season at Homestead. While the veteran driver is the distinct underdog in this one race for all the marbles, he'll try to pull one last shocking upset in Sunday's Ford EcoBoost 400.(RotoWire, )
