News: Busch's breakup with his ex-girlfriend turned into an ugly court battle Tuesday when she described Busch in testimony as unstable and struggling with alcoholism and depression. His attorneys countered, describing her as untrustworthy and "extremely mercenary", the Associated Press reports. Impact: Testimony turned ugly in Busch's case with ex-girlfriend, Patricia Driscoll, as they often do in domestic abuse cases. The mud-slinging is sure to continue as the a separate criminal investigation continues by the Dover police. This is not the way Busch intended to spend his off-season and it could become a major distraction if it lingers into the start of the 2015 season.(RotoWire, )

News: Busch is scheduled to appear at Kent County Family Court on Tuesday for a hearing related to a protective order filed by his ex-girlfriend, who last month alleged that Busch had "smashed" her head three times against a bedroom wall in their motor coach following a September race in Dover, the Delaware News Journal reports. Impact: This hearing will focus on the evidence, witness statements and other material related to the investigation. Police spokesman, Mark Hoffman, stated that the investigation has been particularly difficult due to delayed reporting of the incident and the frequent travel of the witnesses. Busch continues to stand by his claim of innocence in the matter as the proceedings continue.(RotoWire, )

News: If Busch decides to do "The Double" again in 2015, he has the blessing of teammate and Stewart-Haas Racing team co-owner Tony Stewart, NBC Sports reports. Impact: After successfully completing his first "double" during Memorial Day weekend in 2014, Busch has Stewart's approval to go for it again in the upcoming season. The SHR veteran posted a brilliant sixth-place finish in his debut in the Indy 500, but fell short of expectations with a 40th-place finish in the Coca-Cola 600 later that day. An engine failure led to his poor finish in the NASCAR half of the double. Busch will aim higher if he decides to race in both events in 2015.(RotoWire, )

News: Champions and driving greats from the world's major racing series are sizing up their opposition for this weekend's Race Of Champions, to be held at Bushy Park Barbados on Dec. 13-14. The ROC 2014 field includes this year's Indianapolis 500 winner, Ryan Hunter-Reay, who will partner with past NASCAR champion Busch for Team USA, autoweek.com reports. Impact: The dynamic duo of Hunter-Reay and Busch should make a good pair to represent Team USA. Busch will be making his first appearance in this prestigious, global racing event. Team USA hasn't won the Nations' Cup portion of the competition since Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon took the honor in 2002.(RotoWire, )
