News: Harvick finished fifth in the MyAFibStory.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway Sunday afternoon. Impact: The Stewart Haas Racing star dominated at Chicagoland Speedway. Harvick led 79 laps and battled with multiple drivers all afternoon at the 1.5-mile oval. With so many drivers contending for the win and having strong cars, the pit window and track position didn't fall to Harvick in the closing stages of the race. The result was his ninth Top-5 finish of the season instead of the win. The veteran driver sits fourth overall in the Chase standings as the series heads to New Hampshire next week.(RotoWire, )

News: Harvick won the Jimmy John's Freaky Fast 300 Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway Saturday afternoon. Impact: A two-tire pit stop late in the event propelled Harvick to his fourth victory of the season and third-career win at the Chicago oval. Harvick only led 43 laps on the day and was generally in pursuit of Kyle Busch most of the race. However, the late pit strategy was a game changer and helped the No. 5 Chevrolet team to the win.(RotoWire, )

News: Ditech Mortgage Corp. has partnered with Stewart-Haas Racing in a multiyear agreement. Ditech will serve as an associate sponsor of Harvick and the No. 4 Budweiser/Jimmy John's team beginning with the Sept. 12-14 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekend at Chicagoland Speedway, Stewart Haas Racing PR reports. Impact: Harvick will kick off the quest for his first Sprint Cup championship this weekend at Chicago's 1.5-mile oval. The SHR star has had very fast race cars of late, but not the best of luck. A team swap of his over-the-wall team this week should boost his pit road performance. Harvick should challenge for the win in Chase race #1 at Chicago Sunday afternoon.(RotoWire, )

News: Stewart-Haas Racing has swapped the pit crews of it No. 4 and No. 14 teams of Harvick and Tony Stewart, effective immediately. The change will begin with Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Chicagoland Speedway, stewarthaasracing.com reports. Impact: Harvick's chief complaint in recent weeks has been his team's inconsistency on pit road during races. Repeatedly, the driver of the No. 4 Chevrolet was beaten off pit road at Atlanta recently. While Harvick had what appeared to be the fastest car, he lost that race due to poor pit stops. SHR has taken action to swap the Stewart and Harvick teams as the championship Chase is now on. With Stewart being eliminated from the Chase, this was a pretty easy decision for the team.(RotoWire, )

News: Harvick finished fifth in the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway Saturday night. Impact: Harvick's No. 4 Chevrolet was one of the few cars that had the speed to contend with Brad Keselowski at Richmond. Early in the race the SHR star battled with the No. 2 Ford and even led 17 laps. However, as the night would wear on, Harvick would fall back in traffic after pit stops and would have to contend with a lot of traffic on the green-flag runs. The resulting Top-5 finish was his eighth of the season. Harvick will have a high seed in the Chase and look to compete for his first Sprint Cup Series championship over the next 10 races.(RotoWire, )

News: Harvick finished third in the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Raceway Friday night. Impact: The veteran driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet turned in another strong performance in the Virginia 529 College Savings 250. Harvick was frustrated in his attempts to run down Kyle Busch, but it was a great effort none-the-less. For the tenth time this season, he cracked the Top 5 in this 250-lap short track event. Harvick should be poised to deliver a similar performance in Saturday night's Sprint Cup event at the same oval.(RotoWire, )

News: Harvick was fastest in opening practice for the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway Friday. He turned a fast lap of 129.112 mph. Impact: The first practice was a marathon 180-minute session. Harvick led the way with the only lap in excess of 129 mph. He beat out Brad Keselowski to lead the scoring times for this session. It looks like Saturday night's Federated Auto Parts 400 could come down to a Harvick/Keselowski battle to the checkered flag.(RotoWire, )
