News: Logano finished 16th in the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway Sunday afternoon. Impact: The Penske Racing star was close to his first championship Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Logano raced in the Top 5 throughout the afternoon and made his presence felt among the Chase contenders. However, a critical late pit stop with 24 laps to go would see his championship hopes come to an end. The jack man would lose grip of the car during left-side tire changes and the No. 22 Ford fell to the ground for several seconds. As the team struggled to get the car on the jack to complete the pit stop, Logano would lose several positions. He rallied late to finish 16th and out of contention with the leaders. Logano finishes fourth in the final championship standings and hungry for redemption in 2015.(RotoWire, )

News: No driver has been better in this year's Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup than Logano. The 24-year-old has coasted his way to the Championship 4 behind a Chase-best 5.3 average finish and two victories. To earn his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship, Logano likely needs to produce one more dominant effort in Sunday's Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead, NASCAR PR reports. Impact: Logano has to be seen as a major threat to win the 2014 championship. He has been nothing less than awesome on the intermediate ovals this season. The Penske Racing driver doesn't have the best Homestead stats, but we feel he'll have a big performance in him this weekend. Logano will slug it out with the other three Chase championship contenders in Sunday's 400-mile race at HMS.(RotoWire, )

News: Logano finished sixth in the Quicken Loans Race for the Heroes 500 at Phoenix International Raceway Sunday afternoon. Impact: It took a lot of patience and a mid-race rally, but Logano soldiered through to collect a Top-10 finish at Phoenix. The No. 22 team left the fuel can in the car during a pit stop and the ensuing penalty put him one lap down to the leaders. With a lot of hard work and good racing Logano got his lap back and rallied to crack the Top 10 for a series-best 22nd time this season. The effort gave Logano the points he need to advance to the championship round of the Chase at Homestead. He'll race for the Sprint Cup crown next week at the South Florida oval.(RotoWire, )
