News: NASCAR called Chad Knaus and Hendrick Motorsports executives to its at-track offices after the season finale Sunday, but Knaus and Johnson's No. 48 team will not face any penalties for what is being characterized as a misunderstanding on pit road, sportingnews.com reports. Impact: Knaus had a wheel spacer put on after lose wheel caused some damage to the tire studs on the No. 48 Chevrolet. NASCAR called the crew chief to the NASCAR hauler to discuss the particulars of the incident where Knaus disobeyed a direct order of a NASCAR official. After reviewing the events on pit road it doesn't appear as though any penalties will be levied against Johnson, Knaus or the No. 48 team.(RotoWire, )

News: Johnson finished ninth in the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway Sunday afternoon. Impact: After 10 seasons of Johnson being the name on everyone's minds at Homestead, it was a bit odd seeing the No. 48 team being a non-factor. However, that didn't stop Johnson from turning in a strong performance to end what has been an inconsistent season. He picked up his 20th Top 10 of the season and finished 11th in the final driver point standings.(RotoWire, )
