News: Johnson finished third in the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway Sunday afternoon. Impact: The six-time champion still isn't in championship form, but the No. 48 team worked hard so Johnson could earn a great Top-5 finish. Dover has traditionally been one of his better tracks in the Chase, so this was a good barometer of the team's chances going forward. Based on what we saw, there's still hope for Johnson to get into championship contention by Homestead.(RotoWire, )

News: Johnson finished fifth in the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon. Impact: Johnson revived his championship hopes with what can only be called a workmanlike effort at the Magic Mile. The No. 48 Chevrolet wasn't the fastest car on the track, and things didn't come easy for the six-time champion. However, the skill of this driver and strategy of this crew chief helped to push the No. 48 Chevrolet steadily up the running order. At the completion of 300 miles of racing, Johnson had picked up his ninth Top-5 finish of the season. The Hendrick Motorsports star climbs two spots in the Chase standings and now sits fourth overall heading to Dover next week.(RotoWire, )
