News: Crew chief Alan Gustafson said his mistake late in Sunday's race at Homestead-Miami Speedway cost Gordon a chance to win, reports. Impact: A decision not to pit under caution with 19 laps to go, saw most of the lead lap cars pit for fresh rubber. Gordon maintained the lead but was at a big disadvantage later when more cautions stretched out the race. Gustafson's decision to pit for tires on the final caution put Gordon too far back in traffic to recover for the win. It was a costly mistake and one the team will be stewing over during the short off-season.(RotoWire, )

News: Gordon finished 10th in the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway Sunday afternoon. Impact: Gordon dominated the day at the South Florida oval. He led 161 laps and had the Chase contenders nipping at his heels the entire way. Some late pit stops created some pit strategy and decision-making that didn't turn out so well for the No. 24 team. Gordon would take 4 tires on the final pit stop and lose lots of track position. The Hendrick Motorsports star would settle for a Top 10 on an afternoon when he should have been celebrating in victory lane. Gordon finishes sixth in the final Chase for the Cup standings and looks to next season for yet another attempt at championship number five.(RotoWire, )
