ANNOUNCER 1: One more tour of this glorious racetrack VIR. And I'm sure the guys in the Corvette pits-- I mean, they executed a brilliant stop. And that was a huge momentum changer, in a way. But then the other things that have evolved since then, Cal, they've got to be shaking their heads in disbelief.
ANNOUNCER 2: Oh, there'll be a big smile on Antonio Garcia's face. He doesn't get too pumped up. But he will be happy with this one.
Look at this, Corey Lewis has stretched the lead in GTD to a comfortable margin. Unless he sees traffic, just hit his marks, he should be able to bring it home here. One more lap and a bit to go.
ANNOUNCER 1: Well, and you'd alluded to it-- oh, slowing.
ANNOUNCER 2: [INAUDIBLE] Is that that?
ANNOUNCER 1: It's number 4, I think.
ANNOUNCER 2: It's got to be Milner, because we saw the 3 car just cross the line. Has he got a flat tire? Yes he does, I believe. [INAUDIBLE] incident.
ANNOUNCER 1: Yep.
ANNOUNCER 2: I think he hit.
ANNOUNCER 1: Oh, and look at this!
ANNOUNCER 2: Wow, and that is really a [INAUDIBLE]. That really caught out Corey Lewis by trying to get around the number 4 car. We said anything but traffic and he got it in exactly the wrong moment.
ANNOUNCER 1: [INAUDIBLE] almost passed. He tried to stay around the outside on the approach to 1. Couldn't quite do it. But Corey, as you said, it opened up a little bit of a margin. That's gone.
ANNOUNCER 2: Well, but [INAUDIBLE] pushed the issue here with about 3/4 of a lap to go.
ANNOUNCER 1: Well, you talked about the opportunity for him to jump up two to, potentially, three spots in the championship. If he gets close enough, I would think he probably would.
ANNOUNCER 2: It'd be a big day for him, that is for sure.
ANNOUNCER 1: It's just stunning when you had said it, as we watched Garcia here, down the hill on to the front straight. Perhaps a Cinderella story based on pace earlier in the week.
And the number 3 Corvette repeats! Garcia and Magnussen win for Chevrolet and Corvette at Virginia International Raceway in the Michelin GT Challenge.
And here we go, this battle in GT Daytona.
ANNOUNCER 2: We had a scare about the [INAUDIBLE].
ANNOUNCER 1: Just a couple more corners. And the team that has had speed, that has always been the worse side of the luck equation, Corey Lewis, Change Racing, and Lamborghini on to the front straight. Lamborghini's going to win here at Virginia International Raceway!
Huge story. And Antonio Garcia crawling out. Jan Magnussen standing by. And right next to them is Brian Till. An amazing achievement today, Brian.
BRIAN TILL: Absolutely an amazing achievement. Standing up on the car, celebrating together.
- Yeah! Woo!
- Antonio Garcia, a quiet man, but he speaks loudly behind the wheel. We'll let him get his helmet off. But absolutely amazing.
Corvette racing always seems to find a way. Over the last three races, fourth place finishes. It's been since COTA since you last took the victory. And Jan Magnussen, somebody walked up and said, how did you guys do that? And you said, I don't care.
- I don't know and I don't care. Man, crazy, crazy race. I think we just put ourselves in the right position to take advantage of when other people make mistakes.
- And talk about other people making mistakes, you didn't make a single mistake out there, Antonio. Great job.
- Thank you. Thank you. It was really good. I mean, we knew it was going to be difficult. I mean, the starting six. And with the potential of [INAUDIBLE] race, as it was, everything we lost at the beginning, it was very difficult to catch back that again.
Corvette Racing amazing on the pit strategy. Save a ton of fuel on the middle. Enough to be in contention. And I mean, some luck too. I mean, Ferrari flying off and then the BMW being short. So that's awesome.
And I think we deserve this after all these fourth and thirds. And we got them the last six races, which, by the way, were like victories for us.
