Ryan Hunter-Reay escapes injury in heavy warm-up crash

IndyCar Series driver Ryan Hunter-Reay had a heavy crash during warm-up for Sunday’s Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in Florida.

Hunter-Reay reported that his No. 28 Andretti Autosport Honda suffered a rear-brake failure heading into Turn 10, which led him to run straight on into the run-off area and into the tire barriers.

Fortunately, Hunter-Reay was able to take his hands off the steering wheel before impact and he should be good to make the start of Sunday’s season-opening race.
