Formula E: Marco Andretti to race in Buenos Aires ePrix

Marco Andretti, 27, has two wins in the Verizon IndyCar Series.

IndyCar star Marco Andretti will make his Formula E debut in Buenos Aires next weekend for the Andretti Formula E Team, replacing Franck Montagny after the French auto-racing star was suspended by the FIA after failing a drug test.

The Buenos Aires ePrix will be round 4 of the inaugural FIA Formula E season, which has so far seen races in Beijing, Putrajaya and Punta del Este.

"I’ve been looking forward to the chance to get behind the wheel of a Formula E car," Andretti told FIAFormulaE.com. "Having never been in the car, it’s a bit of an unfamiliar situation for me but the team’s pace looks solid enough for a great result. I like unknown situations; I’m up for the task."

Andretti will be the only American in the field during the race, which will take place on Jan. 10.

He will team up alongside Jean-Eric Vergne, who secured pole and challenged for the win during his debut last race at Punta del Este.
