Yasiel Puig reportedly lost $500K in jewelry in home burglary

Yasiel Puig is battling for the starting job in right field in Dodgers’ camp in Arizona, and that apparently made his home in Los Angeles a target for burglars.

Puig had more than $500,000 in jewelry – including three “high-end Rolex watches” – taken from his home recently, according to a TMZ report. KABC confirmed the burglary, reporting that at least $170,000 in jewelry and other property was stolen. It’s the latest in a string of high-end thefts in the LA area.

After a disappointing 2016 season resulted in a Triple-A demotion and a fresh round of trade speculation, Puig is trying to revive his once-promising major-league career. Thus far in Cactus League play, he is 4-for-14 with two doubles, one homer and one RBI.
