Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki will consult with noted sports surgeon Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia, the team announced after Saturday’s win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Tulowitzki was placed on the 15-day disabled list this past Monday because of a hip flexor strain.

MLB.com notes Meyers performed surgery to remove scar tissue from Tulowitzki’s right groin in 2012, but the Rockies announced that no additional surgery is planned at this time.

Tulowitzki is tied for the major-league lead with a .340 batting average, his .432 on-base percentage is tops in the majors, and his .603 slugging percentage leads the NL. The All-Star also has 21 homers and 52 RBI.
