Cubs SS Castro back in lineup
Manager Dale Sveum says Castro had atoned for his gaffe. On Saturday, the shortstop dawdled after catching a popup in shallow left field, allowing a run to score. He gloved a popup from Matt Carpenter, then put his head down, allowing Jon Jay to score from third and the runners on first and second to advance.
''The way I look at it is obviously he had enough punishment -- whether or not punishment is the right word -- to be embarrassed,'' Sveum said. ''These kind of things happen from time to time."
The 23-year-old infielder, one of the rebuilding Cubs' most prized young players, has looked lost for much of this season. He entered Sunday hitting .244 with seven homers and 32 RBIs, and was 0 for 16 in his last five games. He has only one error in his last 47 games.
