The Rangers said Ortiz had surgery Friday and will be out for three months. The left-hander was 2-2 with a 4.32 ERA in 32 appearances last season. He struck out 27 and walked 10 over 44 2-3 innings in his rookie season. Ortiz had made 184 minor league appearances in the Rangers system before making it to the majors last season.
