Alex Rodriguez is once again bringing along the cousin he fingered for procuring and helping him inject steroids on road trips, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
Yuri Sucart, banned by the Yankees from team-related activities, was spotted at the team’s hotel in San Francisco on Tuesday, right in the middle of a series against Oakland, said the News.
The Daily News says a team source told them Sucart also joined A-Rod last season.
When Rodriguez came clean two years ago about a failed steroid test in 2003, he detailed how Sucart, 13 years his senior, traveled to the Dominican Republic to procure steroids from 2001 to 2003, when A-Rod was with the Texas Rangers.
Major League Baseball is reportedly looking into the situation.
"We have been in contact with the Yankees about this matter. We are looking into it," Rob Manfred, baseball’s executive VP of labor relations, told the Daily News Wednesday.
