During Tuesday night’s game between the New York Mets and Miami Marlins, Mets outfielder Jay Bruce skulled a foul ball into the crowd. En route to its final destination, the ball clipped the arm of a young Mets fan sitting in the first row and appeared to hurt — or at the very least — shock him.
After word spread of what had just transpired, the ball eventually found its way back to the Mets dugout — where players signed it and gave it back to the same young fan as a special souvenir.
