Neshek’s refusal to give up walks putting him in rare company

Pat Neshek has been a revelation out of the Astros' stellar bullpen so far this season.

Side-arming reliever Pat Neshek is one of the core parts of the Houston Astros’ stealthy bullpen, a unit that has been instrumental in their rise to the top of the American League West standings this season.

What’s particularly interesting about Neshek, who was signed as a free agent prior to the season, is that he has not allowed a walk in his 24 outings, spanning 20 and 2/3 innings of work.

In fact, as FOX Sports 1 MLB analyst C.J. Nitkowski Tweeted after Neshek’s outing on Tuesday night, he’s entering some pretty exclusive company thanks to his impeccable command and deception on the mound:

The Astros ‘pen is one of the most intriguing parts of the club’s amazing run so far in 2015, and Neshek’s stinginess has been a huge part of its success.
