Marte hits inside-the-park HR, Mariners beat Dodgers 7-6

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) Kyle Seager had two doubles and drove in three runs, Ketel Marte hit an inside-the-park home run and the Seattle Mariners beat a Los Angeles Dodgers split-squad 7-6 Saturday.

Seth Smith homered for the Mariners and starter Wade Miley went six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits with five strikeouts. Closer Steve Cishek struggled through the ninth, giving up two runs on three hits, but was able to avoid further damage and preserved the win with strikeouts of the last two batters he faced.

Seager had three hits and a stolen base, and Marte was 2 for 3 from the leadoff spot and homered in the fifth inning.

Dodgers starter Scott Kazmir gave up two runs on five hits and struck out five in four innings, but left the game for precautionary reasons.

A.J. Ellis drove in two runs and Scott Van Slyke had three hits for the Dodgers.
