If it was up to Cano, M's would have all free agents

Cano told CBSSports.com: “I’m not going to lie. We need an extra bat, especially a right-handed bat. We have many left-handed hitters. We need at least one more righty. You don’t want to face a lefty pitcher with a lineup of seven left-handed hitters.”
More specifically, Cano wants the Mariners to sign free-agent Kendrys Morales.
“He’s a switch hitter who’s got power,” Cano said.
As a right-handed batter vs. left-handed pitching, Morales provided a .282 average, with six homers and 23 RBI in 209 at bats last year with the Mariners. He had the other 17 homers and 57 RBI as a lefty hitter against righty pitching.
But Morales isn’t the only player Cano thinks the M’s should sign. He also suggested they sign pitcher Ervin Santana.
“(Santana is) great. The guy’s always pitching; he never gets hurt.”
Last year, Santana threw 211 innings for the Kansas City Royals and bounced back from a tough 2012 season with the Angels. Santana went 9-10 with a 3.24 ERA and 1.14 WHIP for the Royals last season, yet remains a free agent.
And that's not all.
Unfortunately, Cruz and Jimenez recently signed with the Baltimore Orioles.
The word is still out on whether Seattle GM Jack Zduriencik will make any more moves before Opening Day.
This just goes to show, you can’t have your $240 million cake and eat it, too.
