Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis went 0-for-3 on Tuesday, snapping his seven-game hit streak.
Tuesday's game aside, it seems as though he is finally hitting his stride. General manager Alex Anthopoulos noted to the Toronto Sun that it was likely Travis trying to play through injury that caused his extended disabled list stint:
"He was hurting for a while there and like most players wasn't saying anything, he wanted to stay in the lineup," general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Tuesday about Travis. It took a little time but he needed to get right. We tried everything to get him on track but ultimately he needed an extended period of rest and it was affecting his swing and he'd be the first to admit it."
Since returning from the DL on June 25, Travis is 13-for-38 (.342).
