Bartolo Colon has a twist on Pedro Martinez's 'call the Yankees my daddy' line

Pedro Martinez will be remembered for many things -- most of them having to do with his incredible MLB career that led him to the Hall of Fame -- but we will never forget his press conference after facing the Yankees on Sept. 24, 2004.

Pedro, with the Boston Red Sox, gave up five earned runs in 7 1/3 innings against New York and afterward delivered this famous line: "What can I say? Just tip my hat and call the Yankees my daddy."

On Thursday, the one and only Bartolo Colon came up with his own version of that line in a reference to Alex Rodriguez.

Colon pitched well against the Yankees -- allowing one run in 6 2/3 innings as the Mets won -- but he's been owned in his career by Rodriguez. In 63 plate appearances against Colon, A-Rod has hit .411 with eight home runs. Thankfully for Colon, Rodriguez is riding New York's bench these days.

Now let's hope the Mets get "That's my Dad" on some custom Bartolo T-shirts and make this an actual thing.
