Harang, Dodgers close on contract

Aaron Harang is nearing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, major-league sources told FOXSports.com.

The total value of the contract is expected to be in the $12 million range.

Harang is from Southern California and had a strong desire to remain in the National League West after going 14-7 with a 3.64 ERA in 28 starts for the San Diego Padres this year.

Harang should complete a formidable starting rotation for the Dodgers, joining Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw, Chad Billingsley, Ted Lilly, and the newly-signed Chris Capuano.
