Seattle's Aardsma won't pitch for a few days
Aardsma has been recovering from offseason hip surgery. Seattle manager Eric Wedge said Tuesday that Aardsma's arm stiffened up after pitching last week in Salt Lake City and Reno, and he will be given a few days to rest. Wedge says the arm stiffness isn't worrisome and Aardsma's hip has felt fine.
Seattle center fielder Franklin Gutierrez has also started a rehab assignment at Tacoma after being diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome. Gutierrez was the designated hitter Monday night and was scheduled to play five innings in center field on Tuesday.
