Glaus to undergo surgery

Last year, Glaus played just 91 games because of a shoulder injury that ended his season in July. He did not have surgery during the off-season.
The 27-year-old slugger had been relegated to designated hitter duties earlier this month because of the shoulder problem. He then injured his right knee during a May 11 game against the New York
Tests revealed a sprained knee ligament and a strained right shoulder. Surgery was then recommended for the shoulder.
Glaus was off to a terrific start with 28 runs batted in and a .296 batting average in just 29 games. He also has an eight-game hitting streak and leads the AL in slugging percentage at .694.
