Source: Diamondbacks, Hill agree on deal
A physical exam is tentatively scheduled for early this week.
Hill, who earned $5 million last season, joined the Diamondbacks from the Toronto Blue Jays in August. He hit .315 in 124 at-bats after the trade as the Diamondbacks won the National League West title.
Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers said late last week that the team would turn its attention to starting pitching once it had acquired Hill, FOX Sports Arizona reported.
Arizona has been linked to veteran Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Hiroki Kuroda, who chose to stay with the Dodgers at the trading deadline last season. The Diamondbacks were among the original suitors for Kuroda when he came from Japan in 2008.
If Hill had decided to leave, the Diamondbacks were likely to give Ryan Roberts the first chance at second base and shop for a third baseman.
