Patrick Corbin has pitched extremely well this spring, and it probably won't be enough to make Arizona's opening-day roster.
The left-hander struck out three and walked two while lowering his spring ERA to 0.57.
''The first two innings I was a little rusty and was trying to find the strike zone,'' Corbin said. ''After that it went away and I was able to throw all my pitches.''
''No matter where I start this year, I am glad I got the chance to show them what I have, ''Corbin said. Hopefully I will get a shot.''
Corbin also impressed at the plate, going 2 for 2 with a triple and an RBI. Geraldo Parra added two hits for Arizona.
Jeremy Guthrie, slated to start on opening day for Colorado, gave up six runs, four earned, and 10 hits in six innings. He struck out two and walked one.
''Every outing is a chance to get more prepared for the season,'' said Guthrie, who was acquired in a trade with Baltimore on Feb. 6. ''As long as you got out there, do your work and have a focus, then they all can be productive. You like the outcome to be as good as they can be every time but ultimately you have to work on things and make sure you are ready.''
Colorado took advantage of Corbin's departure, pushing across two runs in the sixth on Marco Scutaro's base hit off Craig Breslow.
NOTES: Diamondbacks RHP Daniel Hudson, who has a 1.64 ERA in his last three starts, threw in an intrasquad minor league game. He struck out eight in six innings, yielding one run and four hits. ... With a crowd of 12,044, the Diamondbacks had their 11th sellout of the spring. That ties a franchise mark set last year. ... The Rockies gave veteran INF Casey Blake his unconditional release. The 38-year-old Blake was batting .150 with a homer and two RBIs this spring. ''I say this from the bottom of my heart, the 11 years I have sat here I don't know if I had a more difficult get together than the one this morning,'' Rockies manager Jim Tracy said. ''Sometimes there are situations like this that are pretty painful.'' . Rockies RHP Guillermo Moscoso threw in a Triple-A game against Angels minor leaguers. He allowed two runs and seven hits in 4 2-3 innings.
