Bush hit .423 this season and had an 8-2 record as a pitcher for Mission Bay High School in San Diego. Described as a strong five-tool player, who has a great attitude on the field, Bush has a fastball that can reach 95 mph on the mound and that translates into a huge advantage at shortstop.
Head coach Dennis Pugh notes in his 30 years of coaching Bush is the best player he's ever seen and at this point he could actually be ready defensively at the major league level. His bat speed is a plus and he can hit for power despite his small 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame.
Bush played quarterback and safety as a sophomore, but stopped playing football to remain injury-free in pursuit of a baseball career.
