News: Van Slyke agreed to a one-year contract with the Dodgers on Thursday, avoiding arbitration.
Impact: His overall OPS fell more than 200 points from 2014, with his slugging percentage against left-handed pitching falling from .630 all the way to .398. The 29-year-old battled a variety of injuries over the final four months of the season, namely back, neck, and wrist ailments. If healthy, Van Slyke should bounce back as a short-end platoon option at first base and in the outfield corners.
