News: Brantly (knee) is in the lineup Wednesday against the A's, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Impact: A knee issue has limited Brantly over the past several days, but he has been cleared to return behind the plate Wednesday to catch for starter Erik Johnson. Brantly has gone 2-for-12 with a homer so far with the big club after batting .310/.335/.483 in 53 games between Double-A and Triple-A.

News: Brantly is day-to-day with a knee issue, the Associated Press reports.
Impact: Manager Robin Ventura characterized Brantly's injury as a "nagging" issue. As the third catcher for the White Sox, Brantly isn't expected to see much action even once he returns to 100 percent health.

News: Brantly was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Phil Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Impact: While Brantly turned in respectable numbers between Double-A and Triple-A this season (.310/.335/.483), it was only over a 53-game sample, and the White Sox have not suggested the 26-year-old will be more than the third catcher down the stretch. He's hit just .235/.298/.325 in 98 career games at the major league level.
