News: McAllister is expected to rejoin the rotation Saturday vs. the Royals, Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Impact: With the Indians determining earlier in the week that Justin Masterson (knee) would require another rehab start at Columbus over the weekend, McAllister looks like the favorite to fill the vacancy in the Tribe's rotation. McAllister had a respectable turn his last time out against the Tigers, limiting the opposition to one run and striking out six batters over 5.1 innings.(RotoWire, )

News: McAllister was sent to Triple-A Columbus following his start Saturday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Impact: McAllister could rejoin the Indians as soon as Friday if Justin Masterson is unable to return from a knee injury, but he's going to face an uphill battle to earn a spot at the back end of the Cleveland rotation going forward.(RotoWire, )

News: McAllister held the Tigers to one run on three hits with three walks and six strikeouts in 5.1 innings Saturday. Impact: McAllister may not stick in Cleveland's rotation but made a good spot start while filling in during a doubleheader. He's been stuck at Triple-A Columbus since he was sent down after struggling through most of the month of May, but he has a quality start in five of six outings at that level.(RotoWire, )

News: McAllister will take the mound for the Indians for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader in Detroit, Joe Reedy of FOX Sports Ohio reports. Impact: McAllister pitching for the Indians during the doubleheader had already been presumed after he joined the team Thursday in Detroit, but manager Terry Francona later confirmed the rotation plans. He gave the Indians a quality start on July 12 after more than a month-long absence, and expects to remain in the rotation moving forward. The 26-year-old righty will look to improve upon his 5.63 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in the second half.(RotoWire, )

News: McAllister is a likely candidate to take the hill for one game of Saturday's doubleheader,'s Jordan Bastian reports. Impact: Nothing has been announced by the Indians just yet, but McAllister would be a logical candidate to make a start during Saturday's two-game set with Detroit. He was optioned to Triple-A on Tuesday, but as expected, his stint in the minors appears to be short-lived. The Indians currently have just three starting pitchers on their active roster, so they'll likely make another move in the near future.(RotoWire, )

News: McAllister was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday. Impact: McAllister's demotion will more than likely be temporary, but because he isn't taking the mound immediately after the All-Star break, the Indians will make a corresponding move for a relief pitcher prior to Friday's contest in Detroit. Expect the right-hander to make at least one more start during Justin Masterson's (knee) stay on the disabled list.(RotoWire, )

News: McAllister gave up three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two in seven innings in the Indians' 6-2 loss to the White Sox on Saturday. Impact: McAllister was pulled up from Triple-A Columbus for the start. He posted a 2.08 ERA in five starts in Columbus, where he was demoted on June 20. Although he took the loss, the Indians may consider keeping McAllister in the rotation, as Justin Masterson (knee) remains on the 15-day DL.(RotoWire, )
