News: Molina (thumb) expects to be cleared to resume swinging a bat next week, Jim Hayes of FOX Sports Midwest reports. Impact: A day after catching his first bullpen session since undergoing surgery to repair a torn thumb ligament, Molina returned to the bullpen Friday for more work. He seems optimistic that he'll be cleared to ramp up his activity further next week, and while the team could always step in and pump the brakes, it sounds like Molina has a chance to beat even the front-end of his estimated 8-to-12 week recovery timetable.(RotoWire, )

News: Molina (thumb) caught a bullpen session Thursday, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports. Impact: It was the first time he donned the catcher's mitt since landing on the disabled list in mid-July. The team is optimistic he will meet the short end of the eight-to-12-week recovery timetable initially established for him, but it will be tough to get a true gauge of how well he's progressing until he takes part in more baseball-related activities.(RotoWire, )
