News: Flores won't immediately head to Triple-A Las Vegas after Ruben Tejada returns to the lineup, ESPN New York reports. Impact: Flores was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday to serve as an extra infielder in case Tejada required a DL stint, and ended up receiving the starting nod in Tejada's absence Thursday night. The Mets don't sound ready to ship him out just yet, however, as manager Terry Collins has plans to exercise him at a few different infield positions while he's with the club. Flores likely won't challenge Tejada for the shortstop job any time soon, but he could be used to give Daniel Murphy or David Wright a day off over the weekend.(RotoWire, )

News: Flores will start at short and bat seventh Thursday against the Brewers, Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com reports. Impact: The Mets gave Flores the call after Ruben Tejada was hit in the head by a fastball Wednesday, but Tejada passed his concussion tests and does not appear headed for the DL. Thus, Flores' stint with the big club may be a short one, but he has hit .323/.367/.568 with 13 homers in 55 games with Las Vegas this season, so he at least makes for an intriguing daily option.(RotoWire, )

News: Flores was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday. Impact: Ruben Tejada was drilled with a 94-mph fastball Wednesday, but he reportedly passed his concussion tests and was feeling "pretty good" after the game, according to manager Terry Collins. Those comments would suggest Tejada is safe from the 7-day DL, but Flores, who has hit .323 with 13 homers in 55 games with Las Vegas this season, will be up to provide some security depth at short. A corresponding roster move was not immediately announced.(RotoWire, )

News: Flores blasted his 13th home run of the season for Triple-A Las Vegas Wednesday and would appear to be in line for a call-up if Ruben Tejada suffers any ill effects from getting hit by a pitch on the helmet earlier that same day. Impact: Tejada traveled with the Mets to Milwaukee, but will not play Thursday; he'll be replaced by Eric Campbell. Campbell is not a full-time shortstop, so if Tejada is sidelined for more than a day or two, Flores could get the call to replace him on the active roster.(RotoWire, )

News: A promotion to the big leagues does not appear to be on the horizon for Flores, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. "I don't want to bring young guys up here and have them sit on the bench," manager Terry Collins said. "There's nothing wrong with going and having a big year in Triple-A." Impact: Flores is in the midst of a 20-game hitting streak with Triple-A Las Vegas while rotating among shortstop, second base and third base. His .325 batting average and 12 homers in 200 at-bats is pretty impressive, but he hasn't done well in his brief cups of coffee with the Mets, and the team is not in contention, so it makes sense to keep him down where he'll play every day.(RotoWire, )
