News: Flores, who got the day off Friday to clear his head due to a 0-for-18 slump at the plate, started at shortstop and hit his fourth home run of the season Saturday. Impact: Flores provided most of the Mets' offense in their 10-3 loss to the Nationals. Despite the slump, he should be in the lineup most nights, as the Mets evaluate him looking toward next season.(RotoWire, )

News: Flores is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Marlins, Marc Carig of Newsday reports. Impact: Since manager Terry Collins announced on Aug. 8 that Flores would see more regular action at shortstop, the 23-year-old has responded with an acceptable .260 batting average, while adding 10 runs and seven RBI over 82 plate appearances. Flores will be given the night off Wednesday in favor of Ruben Tejada, but there's no reason to think he'll lose out on at-bats in September.(RotoWire, )
