News: Milone (neck) is dealing with inflammation in his neck, but general manager Terry Ryan said there is a possibility he pitches again in 2014, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Impact: Milone was scratched from his scheduled start Monday, and an MRI revealed inflammation in his neck, which led to persistent discomfort. With only a dozen games remaining on the schedule, and the Twins well out of contention, it's possible the team will shut Milone down in hopes of avoiding further injury. However, if the inflammation subsides, he could see another start before the season comes to a close.(RotoWire, )

Impact: The Twins will be forced to find a replacement for Monday, after Milone's neck presented issues on every pitch of his bullpen session on Saturday morning. News: Milone (shoulder) will rejoin the Minnesota rotation Sunday against the White Sox, LaVelle Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Impact: Milone hasn't pitched since Sept. 2, after he experienced shoulder soreness following his abbreviated start against the White Sox. Some time off was apparently all that was necessary for Milone to regain health, but it's still difficult to be optimistic about his prospects the rest of the way. The soft-tossing lefty has been blasted for 18 runs and 36 hits over his 20.1 innings with the Twins, so he may need to finish the season with a flourish if he hopes to find himself in the team's Opening Day rotation.(RotoWire, )

News: Milone is experiencing shoulder soreness and will skip Sunday's start against the Angels, MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger reports. Impact: Milone noted that he's had minor issues with his shoulder before, and skipping a start or two has been all that was necessary for him to get over the dead-arm phase. Logan Darnell looks like the frontrunner to join the rotation for however long Milone is sidelined.(RotoWire, )
