News: Vogt is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Astros, CSN California's Joe Stiglich reports. Impact: He won't be catching in the short term, due to a minor foot injury, and it's not a surprise to see him out of the lineup against lefty Brett Oberholtzer, as manager Bob Melvin said before Tuesday's game that he sees Vogt being in the lineup almost everyday against righties, even when Josh Reddick returns. His splits this season don't really back up Vogt being clearly superior against righties, but the A's have other options that do have better numbers against southpaws.(RotoWire, )

News: Vogt continues to rake and went 2-for-5 on Thursday with three RBI. Impact: Vogt has provided the A's with a lot of versatility playing catcher, first base and in the outfield. His .367 average and .925 OPS over his first 98 at-bats of the season have exceeded any and all expectations. Manager Bob Melvin will have to find a way to keep Vogt in the lineup as long as he keeps hitting.(RotoWire, )

News: Vogt hit his third home run of the year in a 2-for-2 effort against the Giants on Wednesday. Impact: Vogt started at first base, batting second, and hit a solo home run in the fourth inning off Matt Cain. The 29-year-old added a walk and is now hitting .366 over 93 at-bats in 2014.
