News: Kazmir lasted only 4.1 innings Tuesday, allowing six runs (four earned) on nine hits and one walk, while striking out three in the loss to the Rangers. Impact: Although he had a solid outing (eight innings of one-run ball in a loss to the White Sox) his last time out on Sept. 11, Kazmir has been more bust than boom of late. In his last five starts -- spanning just 23 innings -- Kazmir has given up 23 runs (21 earned). For the year, Kazmir has a 3.44 ERA and 1.15 WHIP while sporting a 150:49 K:BB over 178 innings. His next start is scheduled for Sunday at home against the Phillies.(RotoWire, )

News: The A's have shuffled their rotation order so that Kazmir will now start ahead of teammate Jeff Samardzija, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Impact: This allows Kazmir to miss the Angels next week, and if the A's make the playoffs past the Wild Card game, he would start Game 1.(RotoWire, )

News: Kazmir (14-8) went the distance in a losing effort Thursday against the White Sox, giving up just one run on four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over eight innings. Impact: Unfortunately for Kazmir, Chris Sale was on the mound for the Sox, and he was particularly untouchable Thursday afternoon. Nonetheless, it's a very positive start for Kazmir, who had been struggling mightily with his command and over his last three starts, resulting in a hideous 16 runs and 9:11 K:BB in 10.2 innings. He'll look to build on this outing when he next takes the mound Wednesday against the Rangers.(RotoWire, )
