Impact: Howard's 15th homer of the year was a garbage-time shot off back-of-the-roster pitcher Wei-Chung Wang, but they all count the same. Both hits did come off lefties. News: Howard has made an adjustment to his hitting mechanics by lowering his hands while in his batting stance, CSN Philly reports. "I'm just working on trying to get my hands in a good slot, get my hands in the zone quicker," Howard said. "If I can get my hands in the that slot or find that happy place then we'll be able to do some damage." Impact: Howard, who has been struggling at the plate, made the change after a discussion with teammate Marlon Byrd. He first used the new mechanics Sunday as a pinch hitter, and used the approach in all his at-bats Monday night. Howard said he will continue with the mechanical adjustment for the time being. If he finds success at the plate, expect the new approach to stick.(RotoWire, )
