News: Hanigan is out of the lineup Thursday against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Impact: Hanigan will give way to Jose Molina in the finale against Baltimore, after going 1-for-7 with a run scored in his first two games back from the DL. His fantasy upside is limited, but Hanigan will serve as the primary option behind the plate for the Rays now that he's healthy.(RotoWire, )

News: Hanigan (left oblique strain) will begin his rehab assignment Friday with High-A Charlotte, the Tampa Bay Tribune's R. Mooney reports. Impact: He's a defensive specialist, and was slashing just .212/.309/.327 before his injury, so he's really only relevant in deeper two-catcher leagues. If everything goes well during his rehab assignment, he could rejoin the Rays in a week or two.(RotoWire, )

News: Hanigan (oblique) expects to begin a minor league rehab assignment Wednesday or Thursday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. Impact: With Hanigan's oblique soreness lingering into early August, the Rays opted to shut him back down from baseball activities, but Hanigan said Tuesday that he's been pain free for a couple days. He'll ramp up his activity from here with an eye toward playing in minor league games later this week, and barring setback, should rejoin the big club on the road next week.(RotoWire, )
