News: Braun swung a bat Sunday and said it "felt pretty good," the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt reports. Impact: This was the first time he has taken swings since his thumb surgery, and he will take more swings later this week. He is fully expected to be ready for the start of spring training, and hopefully the surgery will allow him to be 100 percent for much of 2015, after the thumb bothered him throughout 2014.(RotoWire, )

News: Braun (thumb) has been cleared to swing a bat, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Impact: Braun went for a follow-up visit with his physician Monday, a mere four days after undergoing a cryotherapy procedure on his troublesome right thumb, and received the go-ahead to resume swinging. He isn't expected to try to hit until later in the week, but when he does, Braun should be able to gauge whether his pain tolerance has improved to a significant extent. The nerve issue has prevented Braun from properly gripping a bat since early in the 2013 campaign, and it worsened as this season progressed, resulting in a .226/.295/.374 second-half batting line for the 30-year-old.(RotoWire, )
