News: Nolasco crashed back to earth Monday, allowing five runs in 4.2 innings agains the Diamondbacks. Impact: Nolasco had been rolling before Monday's dud, allowing just three earned runs in his last three starts. The righty's first year in Minnesota has been troublesome. Nolasco holds a 5.47 ERA going into his final start this weekend against the Tigers.(RotoWire, )

News: Nolasco was superb Tuesday, pitching eight shutout innings while allowing five hits and one walk with five strikeouts in eight innings against the Tigers. Impact: Sadly, Nolasco was not awarded a win for this dominant effort, as Glen Perkins lost the lead in the ninth inning. This was just the second time this season that Nolasco didn't allow a run in a start, and since he only went seven innings on the other occasion (Aug. 26), there's no debating that this was his best start of the season. He'll look to continue his strong finish to the season Monday against the Diamondbacks and then he'll make his last start of the season Sept. 27 in Detroit.(RotoWire, )

News: Nolasco (5-11) delivered seven strong innings Thursday in Cleveland, allowing just a run on six hits while striking out five, but was stuck with the loss. Impact: The lone blemish on his record was a Carlos Santana solo homer, but that was enough to send him to his fifth consecutive losing decision; in fact, he hasn't won a game since July 1. Nolasco and the Twins are just trying to find some positive notes at the end of what's been an atrocious season for the 31-year-old righty, and in that vein, he's given up two or fewer earned runs in three of his last four outings. However, in the other one, he gave up eight. Nolasco's allowed five or more runs nine times this season; for comparison, he's allowed two or fewer runs seven times. He'll continue looking for reasons to be optimistic Wednesday against the White Sox.(RotoWire, )
