News: Porcello improved to 15-8 on Tuesday, tossing eight innings of nine-hit, two-run ball while not issuing a walk and striking out two against the Yankees. Impact: Strangely enough, both runs came on a pair of solo homers from Jacoby Ellsbury. The sixth-year big leaguer has been great this season, posting a 3.06 ERA and 1.12 WHIP -- both of which are well below his career numbers of 4.28 and 1.35 -- while providing rock solid dependability at the back end of a star-studded rotation that features Max Scherzer, David Price and Justin Verlander. Porcello will look to build upon his career-high 15 wins in his next start Sunday against the White Sox.(RotoWire, )

News: Porcello pitched an absolute gem against the Rays on Wednesday, tossing a complete-game shutout while giving up just three hits and striking out four en route to his 14th win of the year. Impact: After a mediocre performance his last time out on August 15 against the Mariners (five earned runs on 10 hits in six innings), Porcello reversed course with one of his best outings of the year. Shockingly, this was Porcello's third complete-game shutout of the year. With his ability to keep runners off base (32 walks in 165.1 innings), Porcello has really excelled this year and now sports a 3.10 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. His next start is scheduled for Tuesday at home against the Yankees.(RotoWire, )
