News: Arenado (illness) admitted he was feeling better Thursday, but there's a good chance he'll be kept out of the lineup for the rest of the season, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. Impact: Arenado isn't dealing with just a run-of-the-mill illness, as it was determined Tuesday that he is dealing with early-onset pneumonia in addition to his chest contusion. It may be difficult for him to get his stamina up to par before the end of the season, and with the Rockies not in the running for a playoff berth, it would make sense for them to take precaution with their promising third baseman. Charlie Culberson will man third base for Arenado on Thursday, and along with Rafael Ynoa, he'll be a primary option at the position the rest of the way.(RotoWire, )

News: Manager Walt Weiss anticipates that Arenado (illness) will return this season, despite Tuesday's revelation that he is dealing with early-onset pneumonia, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports. "He had some fluid in his lungs," Weiss said of the third baseman. "But I think we'll see him again this season." Impact: The diagnosis of the illness was something of a surprise for Arenado, who underwent an MRI and CT scan on Monday for a suspected rib injury. He remained away from the team Tuesday to rest, and doesn't appear likely to play for the next several days. The Rockies will see how he progresses during that time before determining whether he's fit for a return to action during the final week of the season. Charlie Culberson and Rafael Ynoa figure see most of the duties at third base while Arenado remains unavailable.(RotoWire, )

News: Arenado will be sidelined indefinitely because of a bruised chest and pneumonia. Impact: The slick fielder was hurt diving for a ball during a game in New York against the Mets last week. An MRI and CAT scan Monday revealed not only a bruise but fluid in Arenado's lungs. Rockies manager Walt Weiss said it's "going to be a few days before he's even up and about. But I think we'll see him before the season is over."(STATS, 6:34pm)

Impact: It's not clear when Arenado will be able to play again, but he will miss his second straight game due to his bruised ribs. News: Arenado (ribs) will remain sidelined Monday, Jenny Cavnar of Root Sports reports. Impact: He exited Sunday's game after just three innings after suffering a bruise on the right side of his chest. He was supposed to undergo X-rays Monday, but the results of those have not been made public. Still, it seems likely that he's just day-to-day at this point. Rafael Ynoa will get the start at third base Monday.(RotoWire, )

News: Arenado will undergo an X-ray on his ribs Monday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. Impact: Arenado was removed from Sunday's game due to a painful bruise on the right side of his chest, and the Rockies just want to ensure that he didn't sustain any structural damage to his ribs. The X-ray should allow the Rockies to etch out a rough timeline for Arenado's return to the lineup.(RotoWire, )

News: Arenado was removed from Sunday's game against the Cardinals with a chest contusion. Impact: Arenado departed after just three innings and was replaced by Rafael Ynoa. Prior to exiting, he was 0-for-2 at the plate. Officially listed as day-to-day, Arenado will likely return to the lineup in the next day or two.(RotoWire, )

News: Arenado picked up one RBI on the night as he went 1-for-4 against the Cardinals on Friday. Impact: The Rockies third baseman provided the only run on the night in another miserable lackluster performance by his club. Arenado (.291/.333/.507) remains one of the Rockies' bright spots on the club heading into 2015.(RotoWire, )

News: Arenado went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Monday's loss to the Mets. Impact: Arenado has now gone deep in four of his last five games, boosting his home run total for the season to 18. It's evident at this point that the broken finger he sustained in late May has done little to compromise his power.(RotoWire, )

News: Arenado went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 6-0 win over the Padres. Impact: Arenado has been on quite the power surge recently, as the Rockies' young third baseman has now gone deep in three of his past four games.(RotoWire, )

News: Arenado went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in Wednesday's win over the Giants. Impact: After receiving a rare day off Tuesday, Arenado returned to the lineup with a bang, bashing the go-head blast in the bottom of the sixth inning. Though 14 of his 15 homers have come at Coors Field this season, Arenado has at least shown solid contact-hitting skills in road environs, carrying a .282 batting average over 181 at-bats.(RotoWire, )
